About Dr. John Loranger
Dr. John Loranger, Ed.D., LPC/LCMHCI’m a licensed counselor and U.S. Air Force veteran with a background in mental and behavioral health, chronic pain, brain injury, trauma, and counseling for military members and their families.
My approach is straightforward and personal. I believe understanding someone’s experiences is just as important as understanding the challenges they’re facing.
How My Experiences Shaped My Work
Losing my wife, Susan, to cancer changed my understanding of grief in ways I never expected.
Going through her illness and the loss that followed gave me a deeper appreciation for how difficult it can be to navigate grief, uncertainty, and major changes in life.
That experience continues to shape how I approach counseling today, with compassion, patience, and an understanding that everyone processes difficult experiences differently.
