You don’t have to be in crisis to benefit from counseling. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, struggling with emotions, experiencing relationship difficulties, or finding yourself repeating patterns that aren’t working, counseling can help.

It’s an opportunity to better understand what you’re experiencing, develop healthier ways to respond, and make meaningful changes in your life.

Dr. John works with individuals experiencing a variety of emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, stress, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions.

His approach focuses on understanding each person’s experiences and developing practical strategies to help them move forward.

Counseling sessions with Dr. John take place online through secure video appointments, allowing you to participate from a private, comfortable location.

During your sessions, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your concerns, explore your thoughts and feelings, and work toward personal goals.

Dr. John will help you recognize patterns, understand what may be contributing to your difficulties, and develop practical tools for managing challenges more effectively.

Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your individual needs.

The length of counseling depends on your individual concerns, goals, and progress.

Some people benefit from short-term counseling focused on a particular challenge, while others find ongoing support helpful as they work through more complex issues.

Dr. John will work with you to evaluate your progress and determine what makes sense for your situation.

Dr. John draws from several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and Positive Psychology.

Rather than using the same approach with everyone, he considers your experiences, concerns, and goals to determine which strategies may be most helpful.

Yes. Confidentiality is an important part of the counseling relationship.

What you discuss during sessions is generally kept private, with certain exceptions required by law. These may include situations involving suspected abuse or neglect, serious concerns about safety, or a legal requirement to disclose information.

Dr. John will explain confidentiality and its limitations so you understand how your personal information is protected.

You don’t need to prepare anything elaborate.

Before your appointment, find a quiet, private space where you feel comfortable speaking openly. Make sure you have a reliable internet connection and a device that supports video appointments.

It may also help to think about what brought you to counseling, what you’ve been struggling with, and what you’d like to change.

Most importantly, you don’t need to have everything figured out before your first session.
